Behaviour management

Southport Special School is a Positive Behaviour for Learning (PB4L) School.
Our school rules are:
Be Safe
Be Kind
Be a Learner
·         Staff follow the guidelines of “Essential Skills of Classroom Management”
·         Teachers provide weekly lessons on the school rules
Positive Behaviour Processes:
·         Classes can use SKL (Be Safe. Be Kind. Be a Learner.) Sticker chart for a reward system.
·         If students reach 10 stickers in one area they can get a reward in class or a Certificate at Assembly.
·         Staff can also give Gotcha’s when they see Positive Behaviour. Gotcha’s are a piece of paper with the school poster on them.
·         Some teams put the Gotcha’s in a draw at Assembly’s.
·         Positive Behaviour can also be recorded in Oneschool (State-wide database)
·         Every semester the Principal will hold a Morning Tea.  All teachers get to select their best behaved student to attend the morning tea.
